The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), a not-for-profit organization, assists 24 approved medical specialty boards in the development and use of standards in the ongoing evaluation and certification of physicians. ABMS, recognized as the "gold standard" in physician certification, believes higher standards for physicians means better care for patients. Board certification by an ABMS member board provides assurance of a physician's expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of practice.

Dr. Greco has served as a spokesman for both major Plastic Surgical Societies. He has served as the Chariman of the Public Education Committee. In addition, Dr. Greco is the editor of the ASF Source, the official newsletter of the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgial Facilities.

Academic Affiliations

Dr. Greco was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His research resulted in two patents and led to new surgical practices. Dr. Greco's current research is in Massive Liposuction, New Facelift Healing Techniques and Improving Breast Reconstruction Results.

Dr. Greco has authored over 30 scientific papers including six medical textbooks. He has edited a book, Emergency Plastic Surgery. He has given over 100 presentaions to local, regional, national and international audiences.
